Frida – My inspiration in dressing how you want to feel

Frida has always been a huge inspiration for me not only because of her artwork and her fashion sense, which is undeniably personal and moving, but also because of her bravery due to her ill health and disability. A woman who had physical disabilities such as polio as a child and then later a tram accident that left her paralysed. She was always true to her Mexican origins, a strong woman who expressed her loss and grief through her artwork and fashion style. Her life was filled with pain and passion.

    Dressability the ‘Audrey Hepburn’ Moment

In my work as a stylist I have lots of wonderful memories of happy client moments, but one that really stays with me is what my client called her “real life Cinderella styling” session!

In the Mood for Love – The use of space, colour, texture and shape in design

Every styling session begins with a discovery phase. It is during this discovery process that my many years of training in design is put to good use. My well-honed skills from working in film and television as a designer and my visual merchandising and styling experience is my superpower in knowing colour and style and how to help people visually express themselves through their clothing.  As soon as I meet someone, whether I want to or not, I immediately get an intrinsic sense of how to help them rock their style on their terms.
